Hospice is a comprehensive, holistic program of care and support for terminally ill patients and their families. Hospice care provides passionate care through pain relief and symptom management to ensure that patients live as fully and comfortably as possible in the final stages of their lives.
Eligibility is determined through a physician's certification stating the patient has a terminal diagnosis and a prognosis of approximately six (6) months or less if the disease were to run its normal course.
Palliative care is specialized medical care that focuses on providing patients relief from pain and other symptoms of a serious illness, no matter the diagnosis or stage of disease. This form of care is offered alongside curative or other treatments you may be receiving.
Any patients with a serious, long-lasting disease or life-threatening illness are eligible for palliative care at any stage of their illness.
